A new version of The Nutcracker set in present-day Massachusetts, in which a mysterious pine tree arrives at Clara's family holiday party and leads her into a world of mice, magical creatures, dancing flowers and plant life. Tchaikovsky's score is blended with plant-generated music by Skooby Laposky. Jessie Jeanne Stinnett and Henoch Spinola direct and choreograph for Boston Dance Theater's contemporary dancers, joined by young performers from Watertown Children's Theatre.
