Boston Symphony Chamber Players: Stravinsky, Shaw & Tower
Stravinsky fills most of this Boston Symphony Chamber Players programme: the Septet for clarinet, bassoon, horn, piano and strings, the Duo concertante for violin and piano, Powell's arrangement of the Suite italienne for double bass and piano, and two solo works, the Three Pieces for clarinet and the Elegy for viola. Caroline Shaw's string quartet Plan and Elevation and Joan Tower's Petrushkates, a play on Stravinsky's Petrushka, round it out.
