Fifteenth-century English music for Christmas: plainchant and carols, antiphons, and polyphonic settings of the Mass, full of the graceful melody, exuberant cross-rhythm and dazzling polyphony of the period. A dozen voices of Blue Heron, the Cambridge Renaissance choir, sing under founder and artistic director Scott Metcalfe.
