Leslie Jonas: Indigenous Ways of Knowing and the Power of Two-Eyed Seeing
Leslie Jonas, MIT’s MLK Visiting Scholar in Anthropology, talks about Two-Eyed Seeing, a teaching of Mi’kmaw Elder Albert Marshall that joins Indigenous knowledge with Western science, and how the two can work together in academia. An Elder Eel Clan member of the Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe, Jonas is the first Tribal Liaison at the Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution and a founding board officer of the Native Land Conservancy.
