A two-day conference for the 250th anniversary of Adam Smith's Wealth of Nations brings Smith scholars together with experts on Catholic Social Thought. Harvard's Benjamin Friedman, author of Religion and the Rise of Capitalism, gives the first plenary lecture and Jennifer Herdt of Yale Divinity School the second, "The Myth of Endless Growth and the Forfeiture of Happiness." Panelists include Charles Griswold of Boston University and Samuel Fleischacker.
