Perfect Arrangement
Topher Payne’s comedy is set in 1950s Washington, where two closeted State Department employees, Bob and Norma, have married each other’s partners so the two couples can pass as straight. Things unravel when the department sets them to identifying homosexuals among their colleagues. Inspired by the true story of the earliest stirrings of the gay rights movement, it mixes farce with drama. Kevin Nessman directs.
