The Adventures of Baron Munchausen (1988)

Terry Gilliam’s 1988 fantasy stars John Neville as the ageing Baron Munchausen, who rails against his fading fame and approaching death as he relives his outrageous exploits with a band of misfits during an eighteenth-century siege. Eric Idle, Oliver Reed and a young Sarah Polley co-star. The production ran over time and budget and leans on practical effects. Shown on 35mm in the Brattle’s Fablecore and More series.
