Bruckner Symphony No. 1 (Boston Premiere)
Helix Ensemble and artistic director Tianyi Ren give what they believe is the Boston premiere of Bruckner's Symphony No. 1 in its Vienna version, the composer's 1890–91 revision of his 1866 score, which he nicknamed “das kecke Beserl” (“the saucy maid”). The orchestra gathers 42 young musicians from across the Boston area, and the concert presents the early Bruckner before the monumental symphonies of his later years.
