An afternoon of English music for string orchestra: Vaughan Williams’ The Lark Ascending, with violinist Scott Moore as soloist, Elgar’s Serenade and Introduction and Allegro, Britten’s Simple Symphony and Finzi’s Prelude and Romance. Moore, raised in rural Kentucky, is concertmaster of Symphony by the Sea, Lexington Symphony and Cape Ann Symphony and has recorded with Jim James of My Morning Jacket and Will Oldham.
