Symplectic Geometry Seminar: Aleksander Doan (University College London)
Aleksander Doan, an associate professor of mathematics at University College London, speaks at MIT’s Symplectic Geometry Seminar. He works in differential geometry, gauge theory and symplectic topology, and his paper with Eleny Ionel and Thomas Walpuski on the Gopakumar–Vafa finiteness conjecture appears in the Annals of Mathematics. Doan took his PhD at Stony Brook under Simon Donaldson and held fellowships at Columbia and at Trinity College, Cambridge.
