Ellen Davis, associate paintings conservator at the Straus Center for Conservation and Technical Studies, talks about how artists have used canvas through the ages and how conservators care for it. The monthly series brings conservation staff into the Lightbox Gallery, just outside the Straus labs, for an informal conversation about treating objects in the collections, with tools and materials to examine up close and handle.
