All-Cello Orchestra: Pablo Casals 150th Birthday
Forty-eight cellos and nothing else, conducted by Eugene Friesen, marking 150 years since the birth of Pablo Casals in arrangements of Casals's own music, Villa-Lobos and other favourites. The cello's range overlaps the human voice, so a full ensemble of them sits closer to choral sound than to an orchestra.
