Beethoven: Symphony No. 9 in D Minor, Op. 125 “Choral”
Chorus pro Musica joins the Boston Philharmonic Orchestra, in what the chorus describes as the orchestra's final season, for Beethoven's Ninth Symphony, his last, composed when he was completely deaf. Its finale brings in vocal soloists and chorus for the “Ode to Joy,” a setting of Schiller's poem. The chorus's music director is Jamie Kirsch, who also directs choral activities at Tufts University.
